DDU Factions

Solidify the presence of your crew by registering a Faction.

Once you’ve been active on DDU for a time, your Faction will have the option of a custom armband and/or flag.

You’ll see veteran DDU Factions, who have played for multiple wipes, sporting their own custom gear and clothing.

Registering a Faction

To register a Faction, you must submit a support ticket with the following:

• Faction Leader Name and Steam64ID (must not already be in a faction)
• Faction Name (can be changed at any time in the Faction Menu)
• Whether you have a custom armband or would like to use a vanilla one (and if so, what colour)

Journals and Licences

To manage your faction you’ll need your licence (issued to you at spawn) and a DDU Journal (crafted using a book and rags).

To open the Faction Menu, you must have a Journal in your inventory. You can then open the menu by pressing the * key on the NumPad (can be changed under your key bindings).

Inviting New Members

1. Obtain the Driver’s License from the prospective member
2. Ensure you have your Journal in your inventory
3. Hold the prospective member’s Drivers License in your hand
4. Open the Faction Menu (This will give you a prompt asking if you would like to invite that member to your Faction)

Once you have invited a player, they must open their Faction Menu (by having a Journal in their inventory and pressing * as above). This will prompt them as to whether or not they wish to join the Faction.

The name that they appear as under the Faction ‘roster’ will be the same as on their licence. This can be changed, however, as detailed under the ‘Permissions’ seciton below.

Faction Items

If you have a custom Faction armband and/or flag, they can be crafted by any member.

Craft an armband by holding your licence in your hand and drag a single rag over it.

Craft your custom Faction flag by holding your licence and then drag a flag over it.

Permissions

There are four Faction ranks. The top-ranked ‘Leader’ can change what these are called, but they default to:

1. Member
   • Can edit own nickname using the journal
   • Can craft custom Faction armband or flag (if available)
2. Recruiter
   • Can edit the nickname of any Faction Member ranked
   • Can invite new faction ‘Members’
3. Manager
   • Can edit Faction Member/Recruiter Nicknames
   • Can promote any Member/Recruiter
   • Can demote any Recruiter
   • Can remove Members
4. Leader
   • Can edit Faction name
   • Can edit Faction rank titles
   • Can edit Faction nicknames
   • Can promote any Member / Recruiter / Manager
     • Promoting a Manager will advance that Manager to Leader and the Leader will be demoted to Manager
   • Can demote any Manager or Recruiter
   • Remove people from the Faction
